Acid resistant castables (also called refractory acid-resistant castables or refractory acid-proof castables), also known as refractory castables, is a refractory material that can withstand acid erosion and is extensively used in non-ferrous metallurgy, chemical industry, chimneys, and other applications.
Acid resistant castables adopt special fine coke, primary quartz, and some corundum as aggregate, acid-resistant cement, pure calcium aluminate cement as a binder, and adding ultrafine powder and composite additives. It has the advantages of high-temperature resistance, acid corrosion resistance, and strong wear resistance.
Acid resistant castables have a larger quantity of binding agent and moisture, as well as better fluidity, as compared to other unshaped refractories. Unshaped refractory has a wide range of applications and can be applied by pouring or ramming, depending on the materials utilized and the binding agent employed.
With a density of 1.381.42g/cm3, the acid-resistant castables are made up of 60 percent 70 percent acid-resistant aggregate, 30 percent 40 percent powder, and 13 percent -16 percent sodium silicate solution. Whenever the agent is introduced, the quantity of refractory material that is 10% to 12% of the mass of the sodium silicate solution and resists acidic medium corrosion at 800 to 1200 °C is referred to as acid resistant castables.
The general composition of acid resistant castables is: acid-proof refractory aggregate 60%-70%, powder 30%-40%, plus the density of 1.38-1.42g/cm3 sodium silicate solution 13%-16%, with sodium fluorosilicate as the hardening agent, the addition amount is 10%-12% of the quality of sodium silicate solution. Alkali, hot phosphoric acid, and high fat are not resistant to acid castables.

1. Acid Resistant Castables Have Energy Saving.
Eliminating the high-energy calcination process, only molding, drying, and baking are required, and the energy consumption is 5 to 6% of the fired refractory bricks.
2. Acid Resistant Castables Have High Productivity.
The refractory castables are simple in the production process and their production efficiency is 4~9 times that of refractory bricks.
3. The Construction Efficiency is High.
The construction efficiency of unshaped refractory materials is 6~15 times that of bricklaying. Can be freely shaped. Acid resistant castables can be made into a whole-kind lining and can be used to quickly repair the kiln to improve its life and operation rate.
4. Suitable for All Kinds of Kiln Projects.
The use of special high-quality materials can be used to arrange masonry materials with good resistance to heat and earthquake resistance to harmful gases and slag erosion, flaking, and heat insulation.
Acid resistant castables are mainly used for anti-corrosion flue and chimney linings, acid storage tanks, pickling tank linings, nitric acid shrinkage tower linings, acid recovery furnace linings, and other container linings corroded by acidic high-temperature gases, etc.
