Refractory bubble alumina balls (also called refractory hollow alumina balls, or sphere alumina refractory), bubble alumina balls, and viable products are light refractories with high-temperature resistance and excellent energy saving, which are very stable in various atmospheres.
Refractory bubble alumina balls (also called refractory hollow alumina balls, or sphere alumina refractory), bubble alumina balls, and viable products are light refractories with high-temperature resistance and excellent energy saving, which are very stable in various atmospheres. Especially in the high-temperature kiln at 1800 centigrade, which is a high-purity, extra high-alumina refractory ball, the crystal form is a-Al2O3 microcrystal, which is an electric arc furnace product made from high-purity alumina. The product chemistry is similar to that of white aluminum oxide. Alumina bubble balls are formed from molten alumina, resulting in hollow spheres of low bulk density, and high insulating properties. It has a composition of 95.6% Al2O3, 3.8% CaO, and 0.6% other oxides. It is a blend of Al2O3 bubbles and refractory cement with a uniform particle size of less than 4 mesh (5 mm). After an initial set time of 1 to 4 hours and a final set time of 7 to 10 hours, the bubble alumina balls can reach a bulk density of 1500 kg/m3 (93.6 pcf).
Bubble alumina is used in the production of lightweight insulating refractories where low thermal conductivity and high-temperature properties are the prime requirements. Alumina Bubble is also used effectively for loose-fill refractories, i.e. low density, high insulation refractory castable, concrete, or ceramic bodies useful in a range of applications with temperatures up to 1825°C (3317°F).
The bubble alumina balls have high mechanical high strength, which is several times higher than general light products, while their bulk density is only half of the same as corundum products. The alumina bubble is mainly used in high-temperature furnace / industrial furnace insulation, such as petrochemical industrial gasifiers, carbon black industrial reactors, metallurgical industrial induction furnaces, and other high-temperature, ultra-high temperature furnaces or kilns. The energy-saving effect is very good.
According to the diameter of the ball, we can divide them into 0.2-1mm, 1-2mm, 2-3mm, 3-5mm, and 0.2-1mm. As the diameter of the ball decreases, the integrity rate of the ball increases, and the natural accumulation density of the ball also increases. In production, the large balls can be matched and mixed with an appropriate amount of light-burning a-ai2o3 fine powder for better thermal insulation. The highest operating temperature of alumina hollow spheres is 1800°C.
The alumina hollow sphere is an Al2O3 microcrystal. The volume density of the alumina hollow ball produced by our company is small, the content of impurities is low, and the thermal conductivity is low.
The alumina hollow sphere is the main body, and it can be made into various shapes. The highest use temperature is 1800 degrees, and the product has high mechanical strength. It is several times that of the lightweight products, and the volume density is only 1/2 of the corundum products.

Alumina hollow balls can be used for high-temperature, ultra-high-temperature insulation filler, it can be re-processed as bubble alumina castables and alumina sphere bricks, the energy can save (> 30%) inverted flame kiln, shuttle kiln, and molybdenum wire furnace, tungsten rod furnace, induction furnace, nitriding furnace, etc. By reducing the weight of the furnace body, reforming the structure, saving materials, and saving energy, the energy saving could reach 40%, all of which have achieved apparent effects.
Alumina hollow balls have been widely applied in petrochemical industry gasifiers, carbon black industrial reaction furnaces, metallurgical industry induction furnaces, also other high-temperature and ultrahigh-temperature kilns, and achieved satisfactory results in energy saving.
Lightweight, closed hole, and high-temperature resistance
High mechanical strength, which is several times higher than general light products
